The clients wanted to reference their personal history relating to Hampton Court Palace; an ancestor had been the sedan-chair keeper and lamp-lighter at Hampton Court. This piece is a continuation of the participatory commission Kay created for Hampton Court Palace Gardens (see public art). It is a modified and extended version of the original artwork, with more designs, square rather than round, all inspired by Tudor symbolism and architectural details in Hampton Court Palace and Gardens. It is installed on a wall in the garden.
