Ampthill Heights

Sculptural seating in the form of giant flowers containing flower beds and a series of toadstool-shaped play structures across 0.5 miles of landscaping adjacent to the housing estate.

Ampthill is rich in historical heritage and design themes referenced in the artwork include: Catherine of Aragon, who was resident in Ampthill Castle, Capability Brown, who designed Ampthill Great Park, and where the golden hare from the book Masquerade was found. A golden hare is “hidden” in every sculpture, providing a treasure hunt for children, whilst referencing the real-life treasure hunt that accompanied the book.
