JOY virtual exhibition opening 21st November 2020

JOY presents an international group of established and emerging ceramists exploring spontaneity, improvisation and intuitive making techniques.

The virtual opening took place on 21st November 6-7.30pm.

Our first ever virtual opening was a massive success! We had approximately 75 people in the audience which is amazing and made quite a few sales, so thank you everyone who came!

It was so brilliant to be able to invite all of the artists to the opening, all of whom (bar one) would not have been able to come because they are either abroad or the lockdown prevented travel. So we had a truly international opening with artists from Sweden, Denmark, Lithuania and Poland as well as Scotland and various places in England.

The opening was great fun, featuring a tour of the house introducing the current exhibits displayed in the context of Kay Aplin’s tiled installations, which is on Vimeo, Kay Aplin interviewed 6 of the participating artists and Jospeh Young interviewed Paul Khimasia Morgan, founder of Aural Detritus Concert Series and Blanca Regina, one of the sound artists commissioned to make sound pieces for The Joy of Isolation and played extracts from all of the sound works.

Exhibition dates 21 November – 13 December 2020

Online exhibition 21st November onwards
