New Gateway Commission, Devon

I was commissioned to create a bespoke gateway for a private home in Devon. The gateposts were designed especially to receive the ceramics. The brief was to design something botanical that gives the impression of the ceramics growing on the wall, which reflects the gorgeous, luscious, impressive garden within the gateway.

The ceramic consists of columns of tiles set into recesses in the angled walls on either side of a gate and  a ‘vine’ of ceramic leaves and features that curls along the top of the wall and pillars.

Dimensions: columns 2.5m high, angled walls 2.5 m wide. Stoneware ceramics applied directly to rendered walls.
