Landscaped garden incorporating a playground for young children inspired by Eric Carle’s popular book The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The overall design scheme includes railings and gateways, pathways, floorscapes, landscaping and planting. Mosaic inserts set into coloured tarmac with a spiral of mosaic stepping stones takes participants on a journey through the story by interacting with the structures and floor design. Workshops with local schools and after school clubs contributed to the design process.
