I am pleased to have been invited to participate in the International Invited Group Ceramic Exhibition as part of the 1st International Çanakkale Ceramic Symposium.

Red Flowering Gum Roundel from my Seed series is currently on display at the Çanakkale Ceramic Museum. My work sits alongside renowned artists from around the world as well as all the participating artists in the Symposium.

My second trip to Çanakkale to work on my commission for the Çanakkale Biennial deliberately coincided so that I could participate in the Symposium. I worked alongside the other artists for a few days, which was a fascinating and eventful experience, and produced some new pieces in a lustre firing. I was invited to give a presentation of my work at Mahal Sanat, the beautiful former grain warehouse which also serves as a residency space run by Çanakkale Biennial (and where I stay when I am in residence). It was a full house and many people were very enthusiastic in their response, thank you all for coming!

I am now installed at the Kale factory in Çan collaborating with the bespoke studio team who make the hand made specialist pieces produced by the factory. Kale is the fourth largest ceramic factory in Europe and it is quite an experience being here! More about that to come…
