Longquan Wangou Residency, China

I am excited to share the news that I have been selected to take part in the International Academy of Ceramics Special Residencies Project, as part of the 52nd IAC Congress in Jingdezhen, China.

I have been awarded a fully funded residency at Longquan Wangou, China in May-June 2026.

Some of the work I produce will be included in the 2026 IAC Members’ Exhibition Inheritance and Innovation which will take place in at the Taoxichuan Art Museum in Jingdezhen, China. The exhibition dates are 28 June to 27 August 2027.

I selected Taoxichuan Longquan as it’s a centre for celadon and is home to one of the famous dragon kilns dating back to the Song Dynasty.
I’ve been interested in learning about celadon and wood firing for a long time so I’m very excited about this opportunity.
These images are wood fired celadon peonies from when I was guest artist at Guldagergaard wood firing symposium in 2019. Nice carbon trap effect on the edges.
