Made in Korea is our seventh exhibition since The Ceramic House first opened its doors to the public in 2011. The exhibition during the Brighton Festival, part of Artists Open Houses, was the first in a series of exhibitions and events taking place throughout 2017 across the UK and Korea.
The exhibition transfers to Sladmore Contemporary, 32 Bruton Place, London W1J 6NW, opening 12th July-28th July.
Fifteen Korean ceramic artists are participating in the exhibition, who are based in South Korea, France, Germany, USA and UK. Click on a name to reach each artist’s page.

Additionally two Korean artists, Kyung Won Baek and Jin Kim, have been in residence at The Ceramic House for seven weeks throughout May and June 2017. They are making a new installation inspired by the Stoke-on-Trent pottery industry for British Ceramics Biennial, 23rd September – 5th November. Kay Aplin is making a new piece that will be presented ‘in conversation’ with the Koreans’ work, inspired by Korean architectural ceramic heritage. Joseph Young is creating a four channel sound work that will link the two ceramic pieces composed of sounds recorded in Korea and Stoke on Trent of ceramic manufacturing processes.
