One day symposium

Alleen 22, Sminge, 8600 Silkeborg, DenmarkThis one-day mini-symposium brings together practical knowledge and artistic research in ceramics. I will give an artist talk about my method and materiality in botanically oriented clay works, followed by a demonstration highlighting my technical and aesthetic grasp.Mette Maya is contributing with a professional presentation on her symposium in Lithuania — focusing on context, process and learning benefits — as well as a demonstration of sculptural construction with emphasis on formation, construction and stability.

The day also includes opening the wood-fired kiln, which gives insight into combustion parameters, reduction/oxidation and glaze response in situ.

There will be a sale of ceramic works from the workshop and from the wood fired kiln by Kay. A glass of wine included. Lunch will be available to purchase.

13.30–14.30 — Academic presentation: Experiences from the symposium in Lithuania + demonstration of sculptural construction
Running time 11.00 – 15.00 — Emptying the wood-fired kiln, discussion of results and technique
